Current Liturgical Season: Advent
Advent is the four-week liturgical season that precedes Christmas. In the Catholic Church, Advent is a period of preparation extending over the four Sundays before Christmas. The word Advent comes from the Latin advenio, and means "to come to". Jesus is coming, and during the Advent season we prepare for His arrival. Advent stresses hope and joy with an emphasis of adding grace and light to our lives.
